One of Australia’s foremost advisers recently came on board insurer Minter Ellison’s leadership roster as partner.
Mark Williams is a veteran of insurance, specifically medical negligence, as well as professional liability in health care and law, public liability, product liability and hospital governance, among others.
In a statement, the firm said that prior to joining his current firm Williams served as partner with DLA Piper Australia, where he spent more than two decades of his career in various capacities. His practice is specifically focused on special insurance sectors backed by a strong domestic and international client base which includes insurers, reinsurers, captive insurers and health organizations.
He has also worked in multi-party contractual dispute resolution, and other issues relating to insurance. His extensive experience also includes expert knowledge in the resources, mining and construction sectors. He is also an experienced advocate.
“Mark and his practice are an excellent addition to our Perth…offering,” Peter Coats, national head of the firm’s insurance and corporate risk business unit, said in the same statement.
Coats went on to say, “His arrival not only broadens our offering to the Western Australian market, but also enhances our national practice. Increasingly, insurers are looking for national representation from their lawyers.”
