Specialty lines insurer HDI Global Specialty SE – Australia has appointed Nick Newton (pictured above) and Anja Dix-Eberhardt (pictured below) as heads of finance & operations and risk & compliance, respectively.
Newton, who brings more than two decades of finance and accounting experience to the post, is making the switch from 1Cover where he served as chief financial officer. Dix-Eberhardt, meanwhile, joins from QBE where she was a crucial player in the company’s global risk transformation project.
Effective immediately, the Sydney-based duo will come onboard and report to HDI Global Specialty SE – Australia general manager and head of branch Mark Fleiser.
“Anja will play a key role in supporting our developing branch operation and comes to us with an impressive amount of experience gained both in Australia and globally, having previously worked within the Talanx Group,” noted Fleiser. “Anja will be tasked with leading our risk management and compliance activities, ensuring that we strive for and achieve best market practices.”
The general manager went on to say that Newton’s position is another important appointment within the firm’s growing branch operation.
Fleiser commented: “He has the kind of skills and industry insight from both the insurer and distribution perspective to stand him in very good stead and allow him to quickly add value to the broader finance and accounting function of the team.”
