Suncorp Group-owned insurance brand GIO has extended its partnership with GIO Stadium Canberra (GIO Stadium) until 2026.
GIO has been the stadium's naming rights sponsor since 2013 – and the renewed partnership demonstrates its ongoing commitment to the ACT community.
“We are incredibly proud to be extending our partnership with GIO Stadium. We've seen locals and visitors share many memorable moments at this iconic venue, and we look forward to more in the future,” said GIO executive general manager Matt Pearson.
The extended partnership will enable the stadium to continue showcasing great sports and events. It also comes at an exciting time for Canberra's sports lovers, with the Brumbies and Brumbies Super W teams kicking off their seasons.
ACT Deputy Chief Minister Yvette Berry said GIO has been an integral part of the premier sporting venue's journey over the past eight seasons, with around 224 games of rugby league and union played at the ground featuring Canberra Raiders and Brumbies, so she was delighted to further strengthen the partnership over the coming four years.
“GIO Stadium Canberra has also hosted many international sporting events, concerts, and theatre experiences, along with local community events such as Stadium Golf, now in its third year,” Berry added.
