Insurance sector law firm Gilchrist Connell continues to expand its team this year, welcoming a new principal and seniors in Sydney and Brisbane.
Gilchrist Connell welcomes Brett Solomon (pictured), a renowned litigation lawyer and insurance specialist, as its new principal in its fast-growing Brisbane office. Lawyer Tom O'Donnell and associate Cody Nguyen (pictured directly below) also joined the Brisbane office to boost workplace capability and its capability in casualty and professional indemnity, respectively.
Solomon has nearly three decades of knowledge and experience in the Brisbane market. He acts for Australian and London-based insurers in various industries, including financial services, construction, resources and energy, property, retail, manufacturing, medical, and leisure.
Nguyen, who will focus on casualty and professional indemnity in Brisbane, has been involved in several high-profile financial services, environmental, and product liability class actions in various state and federal jurisdictions.
Meanwhile, special counsel Helen Tieu (pictured directly above) and senior associate Tiarn Pauletto have joined Gilchrist Connell's Sydney office.
Tieu is an expert in specialist coverage, financial institutions, and D&O. Her substantial insurance industry experience includes PI claims, class actions, and several years working in-house and in private practice both within Australia and overseas.
Meanwhile, Pauletto (pictured directly below) has an extensive insurance experience both within law firms and in-house in professional indemnity claims for a large insurer. She has worked across a multitude of jurisdictions for a diverse range of clients across Australia.
Richard Wood, the managing principal at Gilchrist Connell, commented: “We’re delighted that we’re able to attract talent of this quality – particularly in the current competitive labour market faced by insurance sector firms. We have no doubt that our clients will welcome the additional skills and experience that Brett, Helen, Tom, Tiarn, and Cody provide in Brisbane and Sydney.”
