Gilchrist Connell ends 2021 with 13 promotions

Gilchrist Connell (GC), a general insurance and defendant-side dispute resolution firm, has ended 2021 with a bang with the promotion of 13 of its lawyers across its five offices.

The new senior associates are:

• Kaye Lai (Adelaide): general liability, professional indemnity, construction, cyber, and recoveries;
• Ashleigh Allen (Adelaide): general liability and workers compensation;
• Carolyn Ledinh (Sydney): corporate and commercial;
• Phoebe Martin (Sydney): restructuring and insolvency;
• James Reid (Sydney): professional indemnity and health & medical;
• Steven de la Nougerede (Perth): professional indemnity and general liability;
• Jade Wishart (Perth): professional indemnity and general liability;
• Cody Nguyen (Brisbane): professional indemnity and property; and
• Nadine John (Melbourne): corporate and commercial.

The new associates are:

• Madeleine Eaton (Adelaide);
• Katrina Sweet (Sydney);
• Reece Qose (Melbourne); and
• Maddison Harrington (Melbourne).

The promotions, effective January 01, reflect GC’s commitment to meeting the needs of its clients by consolidating its expertise in key insurance lines and complementary areas of law, such as corporate & commercial and restructuring and insolvency.

Commenting on the 13 promotions, GC managing principal Richard Wood said: “These promotions are well-deserved recognition for a group of very talented and dedicated people and reflect our ability to develop emerging talent in both key insurance lines and our broader complementary practices.”

The announcement follows the entrance of renowned senior litigator Ingrid Nunnink to GC Melbourne as a new principal, joined by her associate Tessa Pham and lawyer Victoria Pechlivanis.
