Illinois-headquartered Arthur J
Gallagher & Co (
Gallagher) has acquired London-based Gatehouse Consulting Limited, an internal communication and employee engagement agency, to make it part of
Gallagher’s global communication consulting operations.
As part of the transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, Gatehouse co-founders Simon Wright and Lee Smith will continue to run the full-service agency out of their offices near Tower Bridge, under the direction of Gallagher head of international employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations Leslie Lemenager.
“Gatehouse and Gallagher’s businesses complement one another perfectly,” commented Smith. “Gallagher communication is already regarded as world-class experts in employee communication, and Gatehouse is the go-to internal communication agency, providing us with an opportunity to expand our client offering.”
For J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr. – Gallagher chairman, president, and chief executive – the acquired firm provides not only “tremendous” cross-selling opportunities but also a “terrific complement” to Gallagher’s existing communications consulting operations.
Tim Johnson, CEO Gallagher benefit services UK, added: “We are delighted to welcome Gatehouse to the Gallagher family, they share our dedication to outstanding customer service and the same business approach that has made us so successful.”
Gatehouse provides strategic communications support primarily in the areas of internal change management, employee engagement, employee benefits, recruiting, as well as training and development.
“This is a really exciting time for us,” noted Wright. “From the day we founded Gatehouse over a decade ago we have always had big ambitions for this business.
“Joining forces with Gallagher provides us with a global footprint spanning 34 countries – the perfect springboard for creating the world’s leading communication practice.”
