Gallagher has stepped up against animal cruelty, with its Queensland and Sydney members taking part in the recently held RSPCA Million Paws Walk.
Jen Murray, human resources business partner at Gallagher Queensland, and her canine friends Tara and Arci joined the Noosa Walk, logging 3km and raising $660; while Gallagher Sydney's Jovie Chen, Ingrid Gonzales, Kirsty Patterson, Tammy Sheridan, Randal Tang, and Kathryn Watts donned fluorescent vests and Million Paws caps to assist RSCPCA organisers in New South Wales.
The annual RSPCA fundraiser supports the organisation's work with the 250,000 animals every year that arrive at RSPCA facilities in need of medical treatment, care, and re-homing. This year's Million Paws Walk has so far raised more than $765,000, with donations still coming in.
"This great event is a step towards my goal," Murray said. "It helps the RSPCA to always have room for animals in need, as well as developing outreach programs for regional and development and the delivery of the many services within the community."
"Spending the day with so many dogs, all shapes and sizes, was a treat in itself," Patterson said. "Every dog owner was so proud of showing off their dog and so happy to be among other dog lovers on a large platform. I am sure lots of new friendships were formed on the day."
