Gallagher Bassett (GB) has stepped up its efforts to maintain business continuity and support clients during this challenging time by establishing a global coronavirus task force as well as an online coronavirus resource centre.
The GB task force, comprised of a line of business experts across major injury exposures, is responsible for overseeing the situation and ensuring that current and evolving protocols for handling these matters are effectively implemented and adhered to. It is also in charge of providing any necessary technical oversight on individual claims as the situation evolves.
The resource centre, available at https.//www.gallagherbassett.com.au/covid-19-resource-center/, was set up to provide organisations with access to tools and articles designed by health professionals which they can use to manage and communicate about COVID-19.
“With more cases appearing globally and concern growing daily, we stand ready to help our clients and partners navigate these challenging times with confidence,” said John McNamara, CEO for Australia. “We are here to support and help our clients understand how to address health and safety, reduce risk, and manage claims in the event of a significant outbreak.”
In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, GB has enabled its workforce to handle claims remotely, as well as expanding a number of divisions to assist clients managing the challenges presented by the pandemic. This includes its accident and health and injury management services.
GB said it is also currently assisting a number of carriers to manage the large volume of travel claims resulting from the virus, as well as working directly with employers to make sure they have appropriate injury-management capabilities in place.
