Fusion, a specialty insurer that provides innovative insurance solutions to small- and mid-size businesses (SMEs), has appointed Danielle Eliatamby, Lillian Chau, and Sabrina Chia as associate directors in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) underwriting for the APAC region.
Based in Sydney, Eliatamby has extensive corporate law and M&A experience gained from advising clients on market-leading transactions across the APAC region. She was a lawyer at Herbert Smith Freehills' Corporate M&A practice group and was recognised as a rising star of the legal industry by Australasian Lawyer in 2020. In her new role, she will focus on driving Fusion's continued expansion in the M&A insurance markets in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.
Based in Hong Kong, Chau has significant experience advising insurers and clients on cross-border M&A transactions and with client secondments at major financial institutions. Before joining Fusion, she was a corporate M&A lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright in Hong Kong and Melbourne. As an associate director in M&A underwriting for the APAC region, she will focus on expanding the company's venture into the North Asian market as part of its regional competitive advantage.
Lastly, Chia, who is based in Singapore, is a Singapore-qualified lawyer who has over 14 years of experience as a legal counsel with global and listed corporations across the ASEAN region in a diverse range of global markets. In her new role, she will spearhead the company's consolidation of its Singapore hub and be responsible for its regional growth.
Katherine Simmonds, appointed as Fusion's managing partner in Sydney in October 2021, highlighted the three senior executives' strong expertise and keen understanding of transactions from an underwriting perspective in their respective markets.
