Why did you get into insurance?
I fell into insurance when my parents thought my after-HSC festivities had gone on way too long and they "encouraged" me to get a job! Twenty-nine years later, it continues to be the most rewarding career choice that I could have made.
How would you sum up insurance brokers in three words?
Partners, advisers, inspirational
How would you change the insurance industry?
I would continue to encourage genuine competition and consumer advocacy while at the same time increase professionalism and the available talent pool.
Best advice you've ever been given?
Don't waste energy on worrying about what your next job is going to be, simply focus on being the best you can be every day and the rest of your career will take care of itself."
If you were Prime Minister for one day what would you do?
In line with winning the Americas Cup for the first time, I would declare that any employer who did not give their staff a day off when South Sydney finally breaks its premiership drought was un-Australian!
If you could invite three people to dinner, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
Frank Sinatra – imagine the stories and the party!
Kerry Packer – A remarkable Australian with that larrikin charm whose legacy reminds us that we often take ourselves way too seriously.
Robert Barrett – The late Australian author who would write a best seller on what he heard at the dinner party!
If I wasn't in Insurance, I would be...practising law and playing loads more golf!
