Experts predict insurance trends in Australia and New Zealand

Experts interviewed by Insurance Business Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 Top Insurance Employers awards have predicted the trends in the insurance industry in the years to come.

Meghan Donnithorne, director of tech and transformation and government division at Robert Walters NSW, expects the following trends to emerge:

• adjusting annual salary increases in response to the rising cost of living
• checking salaries against the market and the current skill level of employees
• capitalising on immigration to gain international talent

Challenges facing insurance industry

Industry expert Andrew McKechnie, head of workforce solutions New Zealand at Mercer, expects the insurance industry to face challenges such as:

• sustaining growth though talent attraction and retention
• adopting and implementing strategic workforce plans
• ensuring organisations and their employees are aligned with internal and external requirements
