Everyone is getting excited as the Hamilton Island Race Week approaches. For the marine insurer Nautilus Marine, this is an opportune time for the company to show its support to the Australian boat owners and the north Queensland region.

For Rob Aldis, the commodore of Middle Harbour Yacht Club in Sydney, who will be participating in the regatta for the eighth time this year, the race is something to look forward to.
“It is a regatta that has something for everyone,” Aldis said. “It is very well organised, with ideal racing conditions, great weather, and even some whale watching thrown in.”
Aldis, together with his partner and co-owner Peter Byford from Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club on Pittwater, will be competing on Daguet 2, a Mylius 50 performance cruiser.
“Peter is on board now having a relaxing cruise to get the yacht to the island. I’m bringing her back with three others and am looking forward to some island hopping on the way. The deliveries to and from turn competing at Hamilton Island Race Week into a perfect holiday for everyone,” Aldis said.
Joining the 39th edition of the Hamilton Island Race Week, which is scheduled for Aug. 17-24, 2024, are over 170 boats with around 2000 sailors. Participants and spectators are heading to The Whitsundays for Australia’s largest offshore keelboat regatta.
