Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (
JLT) has appointed former
AIG Asia Pacific chairman Nicholas Walsh to non-executive director.
Walsh was most recently AIG vice chairman, AIG Property & Casualty Inc., chairman of AIG Europe and AIG Asia Pacific Insurance.
His career at AIG spanned more than 42 years, during which time he held various senior management positions including serving on the senior management committee and being president and CEO of AIG’s foreign general insurance segment American International Underwriters.
Walsh is said to have specialist knowledge of the US insurance market, which JLT chairman Geoffrey Howe said will “prove invaluable to JLT as we build our US operations, including the expansion of our specialty capabilities and the development of our reinsurance broking business JLT Re''.
