Ensurance hires new CFO

Insurance disruptor’s newest chief financial officer has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services roles

Ensurance Ltd has announced the appointment of Sam Hallab to the role of chief financial officer (CFO).

Hallab has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services roles both in executive and board positions, and is a registered auditor and tax agent with extensive experience in risk management and compliance.

Hallab previously held the position of deputy CEO of the Australian Catholic Superannuation and Retirement Fund (ACSRF) for almost 13 years. During which time, Hallab also served as chief operating officer, chief finance officer, and company secretary to the Trustee Company. Before that, Hallab was a partner with Sothertons Sydney Chartered Accountants for more than a decade.  

Hallab also held a number of board and committee positions. He was a member of the National Sothertons Group board of directors and secretary of the audit and risk management committee of the ACSRF. 

Stefan Hicks, managing director of Ensurance, said: “The company is now seeing an increase in sales and in the level of enquiries from potential new clients. The company is also exploring a number of international opportunities to launch the platform globally, following on from its success in Australia. By having a CFO with strong financial and industry experience, it is helping the Company manage this growth and evaluate the opportunities.”
