EML Group has taken a step forward to aid small and medium-sized businesses in Australia in managing the intricacies of workers' compensation claims through the introduction of a series of brief, animated videos.
Aimed at simplifying the claims process for employers and bolstering support for recovering employees, these videos cover essential topics such as the sequence of actions after a claim is lodged, how compensation payments are determined weekly, and strategies to reintegrate injured employees back into the workforce.
Feedback from diverse businesses on the effectiveness of these educational videos has been overwhelmingly supportive, the company said.
Michelle Mills, return to work coordinator at Ozpak in regional Victoria, highlighted the videos' clarity and utility as a resource in navigating the complexities of workers' compensation claims.
“Good work, EML. The video tutorials were easy to understand, informative, and helpful. They will be a great resource tool when navigating a workers compensation claim,” she said.
Brendan Byrne, manager of workers compensation and injury management at Austin Health, added: “The videos are a great way to engage managers with clear and simple instructions around supporting their staff after an injury. The videos are concise and exactly what a manager needs to know in the initial stages of the return to work process prior to engaging further support.”
By launching the video series, EML seeks to enhance the process of recovery and return to work for injured employees by ensuring employers are well-informed from the start.
The initiative stresses the importance of these practices not only for the employee's swift recovery but for cultivating a positive workplace culture.
Initially focused on addressing the needs within the Victorian workers' compensation scheme, plans are underway to extend this educational offering to South Australia, broadening the initiative's reach and impact in supporting businesses and their employees across different regions.
