domo insurance (domo), a newly established brokerage, has entered the Australian market with a suite of insurance solutions and a technological platform designed to innovate industry practices and enhance client service.
The brokerage – based in Melbourne – was founded by John Paul Whitbread, Will Dunn, and Eliza White, professionals with substantial experience in both Australian and international markets.
Whitbread brings over 30 years of experience in the Australian insurance industry. Meanwhile, Dunn (pictured, right) and White (pictured, left) bring knowledge from their leadership roles in Asia’s insurance industry over the past 10 years.
Whitbread – who has held roles at Zurich, GIO, Lloyds of London, and served as chief executive officer at Whitbreads – will serve as domo’s chairperson.
Dunn, who will serve as CEO, intends to leverage his international market experience to reshape the insurance landscape.
“domo represents a new era in insurance; we’re not your typical grey cardigan brokers,” he said. "We have developed a game-changing tech solution which will bring decades of industry expertise to our clients at the click of a button. We will deliver unparalleled service and peace of mind to our clients. With domo, insurance is streamlined, intuitive, and tailored to our clients’ needs.”
White, as chief operating officer, will focus on operational efficiency and client-oriented strategies.
“Adding to our own expertise, we have assembled a team of industry specific experts who can service our private clients and those operating in the property and construction industries,” White said. “Our intention is to continue building-out industry specific verticals, further enhancing our capabilities in a range of markets.”
domo will provide a range of products, including property and casualty, construction, personal clients, and specialty lines. The firm’s objective is to offer customised solutions that address each client’s specific needs and goals.
In May, Insurance Business Australia unveiled the 16 Fast Brokerages and Fast Starters for 2024 – the country’s fastest-growing insurance brokerages who were recognised for improving their services and building strong client bases while staying competitive against industry giants.
Over the past two years, IB’s winning brokerages have achieved an average growth rate of 82% in revenue and 80% in gross written premiums.
