CUA has announced the latest round of its grants program, with almost $200,000 to be given away to support local, grassroots, not-for-profit organisations “with big ideas for improving the quality of life of Australians.”
The latest round of the CUA Mutual Good Community Grants Program will award a $10,000 grant to eligible not-for-profit organisations in 19 regions across Australia, with applications set to close on March 2 at 5pm AEST.
“CUA is proud to support the local community, which is why we’re investing much-needed funds back into these communities,” said Jo Kearney, CUA chief of corporate affairs and community. “We’re inviting eligible organisations to apply for funds to help deliver practical new or existing programs that approach social issues in a new way or where there is a gap in addressing a specific issue.”
The applications will be shortlisted, with a local judging panel composed of representatives from each region to select who receives the grant for their local area.
“We are empowering the local community to decide which local initiative they’d like to see benefit from the grant, by inviting business and community representatives from each local area to be part of the judging panel,” Kearney said.
