Claims management company Crawford & Company (Crawford) has enhanced its specialty loss adjusting expertise with two leadership hires in New South Wales (NSW) and Queensland.
Andrew Webb returned to Crawford last week as its NSW liability manager/national executive adjuster after successful stints with two competitor businesses. An expert in liability claims, Webb has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, with 35 of those as a practicing loss adjuster. His work covers public liability, personal injury, product liability, contract works, and professional indemnity. He is also a fellow of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) and a senior associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).
“Andrew previously worked with Crawford for six years in a similar role, so we know firsthand that he's a superb operator and a great leader; it's fantastic to have him back,” said Craig McLeod, head of specialty loss adjusting at Crawford.
Crawford Australia President Tim Jarman added: “People leave organisations for a whole range of reasons, but I believe it says something about your workplace when they want to come back.”
Lynn Lappin joined Crawford this week as its Queensland large and complex loss manager/executive adjuster within the large and complex property space, a newly created role. She has over 20 years of experience in loss adjusting and leading teams, with over 10 years spent with her former employer, where she held various roles across major and complex loss and commercial and a senior management role in Melbourne. Previously, she was based in the UK, working for an insurer and a large loss adjusting business.
In her new role, she will handle large and complex losses, steer the large and complex team in Queensland, and engage with the company's broker and insurer clients to devise innovative solutions.
Describing Lappin, McLeod said: “Her technical skills are a real strength, but it's her calm and approachable leadership style which is going to add real value to our Queensland operations.”
Commenting on both appointments, he said: “The market need for our complex loss skills is certainly increasing, so with that naturally comes the need to bring in additional top talent, and both Andrew and Lynn are highly regarded within the industry. These additions and our continued focus on developing talent will add significant strength to our specialty offering.”
Boosting Crawford's specialty loss adjusting expertise follows the appointments of insurance veterans to the company's property team last month. Crawford was also recently named one of Insurance Business Australia's 5-Star Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion 2022 winners.
