Colin Biggers & Paisley has strengthened its national presence with two new senior appointments and a significant promotion.
Jemma McLaughlin (pictured, left) has been appointed as special counsel in the insurance group, Jon Na (pictured, middle) joins as a senior associate in the construction group, and Patrick Smith (pictured, right) has been promoted to senior associate within the disputes & investigations team.
McLaughlin, returning to the firm, will specialise in professional indemnity litigation.
Her expertise includes defending claims for various professionals, particularly within the health sector. Additionally, she has experience in areas such as general liability, product liability, property damage, subrogated recoveries, and aviation and commercial litigation.
Na will focus on construction disputes, managing cases in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, as well as adjudication and Tribunal proceedings.
His experience includes handling security of payment claims and complex litigation, offering tailored solutions for developers and contractors.
Smith, now a senior associate, will use his background in accounting and commercial law to navigate complex legal disputes.
He has conducted and defended litigation across various Australian jurisdictions and represented creditors and stakeholders in liquidations and bankruptcies.
