Chubb taps lawyer Laws for new global role

Chubb has announced that it has appointed Tracey Laws as senior vice president and general counsel for global government and industry affairs. The appointment is effective Jan. 2.

In the newly created position, Laws will provide legal, regulatory and policy advice to Chubb’s state, federal and international government affairs team. She will also coordinate to ensure that government-affairs activities are consistent throughout the company, and represent the company in a range of regulatory and industry settings.

Laws will report to Jodi Hanson Bond, executive vice president of global government and industry affairs. She will be based in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining Chubb, Laws served as senior vice president and general counsel for the Reinsurance Association of America. She was previously a partner at the law firm of Chadbourne & Park. Laws is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law.
