Current CHU chief executive officer Bobby Lehane is set to leave the company in March 2021 after nearly six years in the role – and it is now up to Kimberley Jonsson to lead the company to a bright future.
CHU confirmed that Jonsson, who has been with the firm for 15 years, will replace Lehane as CEO. She has served many roles over the years, most recently running the NSW/ACT region – the company’s largest business.
“I am just thrilled that Kim will succeed me as CEO. It is undoubtedly one of the best insurance roles in Australia, and I couldn’t be happier to see an internal successor appointed,” Lehane said.
“I have been vocal with the CHU team and our intermediaries, that while the pandemic has changed how we do things, it should not be used as an excuse to defer important decisions or to move forward – this rationale also applies to me. I could not be more pleased with the progress, growth, and indeed the development of CHU over the past five and a half years. It has been the most enjoyable time of my career, but I am now ready for a new challenge. Having Kim succeed me in the role is the perfect ending to this chapter of my career.”
Commenting on her new role, Jonsson said: “The appointment to lead CHU is a dream come true for me having begun my own insurance career at CHU.
“Bobby’s energetic leadership has enabled CHU to thrive and become a resilient organisation, which is stronger in every sense than the one he inherited in 2015. Operationally, we are well placed to deliver upon our strategy to 2025, and I am very optimistic for the future.”
