Strata insurance specialist CHU has won the inaugural Australian Insurance Industry Excellence in the Workplace Diversity and Inclusion Award.
“Diversity and inclusion aren’t just ‘nice to haves’ – they are critical to everything we are and do,” CHU CEO Bobby Lehane said. “It’s now a strategic imperative for any business with aspirations of growth and success into the future.”
“Diversity has always been part of CHU’s DNA and contributed to our success,” said Anne-Maree Paull, CHU’s chief customer officer. “However, in recent years we made the decision to focus on it as a strategic imperative. We believe it’s absolutely critical to our strategic success over the next five to 10 years. On behalf of the CHU leadership team, I would like to thank all the people at CHU who have wholeheartedly walked and continue to walk CHU’s diversity and inclusion path. It’s exciting times.”
CHU said its leadership team has a 50/50 gender split, with ages spanning from 30s to 60s, and a 64% female and 36% male gender split across the company, with females representing 55% of all leaders. This has been consistent over a number of years.
