Steadfast Group, with support from Lloyd’s Australia and Lloyd’s of London, the Award recognises excellence in professional practice in the general insurance intermediary sector.
The winner will get a career-enhancing opportunity to see first-hand how the London Market operates.

The winner will receive an expenses-paid trip to London; an education experience tailored to the winner's special interests; a thorough familiarisation with Lloyd's of London and the workings of the London market; and meetings with brokers, underwriters, and other senior members of the London market.
The winner will be chosen from a pool of nominees short-listed and interviewed by a panel of judges drawn from the sponsors. The panel will compose of Jim Rudkin of Steadfast Group;
Chris Mackinnon of Lloyd’s Australia; Martin McAvenna of AIMS Group; and will be chaired by
Sheila Baker, managing director, Gold Seal.
Last year's Award winner, Daniel Bullock of Safeguard Insurance Brokers, spoke highly of his experience in winning the Valerie Baker Memorial Award.
“The contacts I have made both here in Australia and in London and their willingness to assist me was an experience in itself,” he said.
