Health insurer and care provider Bupa has been selected to provide an integrated healthcare system to the Australian Defence Force, starting July 1.
“Delivering health services to over 80,000 ADF members and reservists is a complex and important undertaking, and after a rigorous procurement process, Bupa demonstrated it is able to deliver Defence’s requirements,” said Cristopher Pyne, minister for Defence. “Under the new contract, ADF members will continue to receive the full scope of health services they currently receive.”
“Our first priority is ensuring the people and processes are in place to allow for an orderly transition and continued health care to ADF personnel,” said Richard Bowden, Bupa CEO. “Bupa will provide stakeholders with further information on the ADF Health Services Contract, and we look forward to a productive relationship.”
