Budget Direct has become the first insurer to be awarded the WriteMark plus standard for plain language, which is specifically awarded for documents that meets a very high standard of clear and open communication.
Budget Direct’s home and contents product disclosure statement (PDS) has been redesigned by the insurer’s in-house design team, alongside external consultants, to make it easier for customers to read and understand what they are covered for and how to make a claim, improving the overall customer experience.
“We revised our previous home and contents PDS to reflect our customer experience principles that are focused on building trust,” said Andriy Kvyatkovskyy, Budget Direct’s general manager for home underwriting and product. “We walked in their shoes to improve the language we use.”
Lynda Harris, Write’s chief executive, lauded Budget Direct for its incredible job with the policy document.
“They’ve shown they truly care about their customers by creating a beautifully simple document that tells the customer about their insurance policy in a clear and straightforward way,” Harris said.
