McLardy McShane has acquired family-run McIntyre Insurance Agency in Victoria as it puts growth plans in to action.

Rosebud-based McIntyre’s has been owned and run by the McIntyre family for over 50 years. McIntyre owner Marty will stay on with the McLardy McShane Group for an indefinite period.

McLardy McShane said the McIntyre name is synonymous with insurance on the Mornington Peninsula, and the acquiring brokerage’s trading name will now be McLardy McShane McIntyre.

McIntyre spoke of his delight at joining McLardy McShane. He said: “We are excited to join such a reputable and strong group with similar values to those of our family company which was founded by my father in 1964. I have long admired the work of McLardy McShane within the industry and community and so I look forward to being a part of their progression and development.”

In a further move to expand the business, McLardy McShane McIntyre has appointed former OAMPS national affinity manager Meg Long to general manager of Empire Insurance Services Pty Ltd, McLardy McShane’s licence holding company.

Long will be responsible for overseeing the operations and development of the group and its current and future authorised representatives.

Don McLardy said: “This is an exciting time for us as we expand the branch network and welcome Meg who will help pave the way for future progress and expansion. We are pleased that our strong growth plans are becoming a reality and we look forward to continuing this growth by attracting likeminded high performing individuals and partnering with businesses with similar values to ourselves.”
