The insurer Brit Ltd (Brit) has today announced the appointment of Gavin Wilkinson to the role of group chief financial officer, subject to regulatory approval. Wilkinson, who will also join the executive committee and board of Brit, joins the insurance company from RSA where he is currently CFO, Scandinavia and will take on his new role in May 2021. Ki CEO Mark Allan will step down from his role as Brit CFO when Wilkinson joins the business.
During his decade at RSA, Wilkinson has held a variety of senior finance roles including working as CFO of RSA UK & International, CFO of RSA Ireland and group performance & capital director. Wilkinson started his career at Deloitte, where he qualified as an accountant working within its financial services practice.
Group CEO of Brit, Matthew Wilson noted that Wilkinson was the stand-out candidate for the role he will be undertaking and said the Brit team is delighted he will be joining the business. He cited Wilkinson’s strong technical skillset, his expertise in leading finance functions within non-life insurance and his track-record of driving performance.
