ABICO Insurance Brokers has acquired the Western Sydney general insurance brokerage, Ausure Macarthur.
ABICO, one of Ausure’s largest corporate authorised representatives, is making the announcement today. The acquisition was finalized on Wednesday.
“This acquisition has strengthened ABICO’s business and allowed them to further grow their client base in Western Sydney,” said a spokesperson in an Ausure media release.
The release said both businesses have been part of Ausure “for some time.”
“Ausure is pleased we were able to assist with the acquisition and help both David and Jarrod achieve their desired outcomes,” said an Ausure spokesperson, referring to David North, managing director of ABICO and Jarrod O’Brien, owner of Ausure Macarthur.
ABICO was established in 1981 and operates out of Wollongong and Oran Park in NSW. According to the release the firm was looking to expand. The owner of Ausure Macarthur was seeking to leave the insurance industry “and explore other opportunities,” according to the release.
O’Brien and his team will join the ABICO firm and operate out of the Oran Park office for the immediate future.
Ausure was established in 1996 with founding offices in NSW, Victoria and the ACT. Today the firm is one of Australia’s largest insurance broking and advice companies with more than 330 authorised representatives and more than one hundred offices nationally.
