Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has expanded its surety footprint and team into Australia and appointed Jonathan Griffiths as head of surety for Australia, to be based in Sydney.
Griffiths joins BHSI after more than a decade of surety underwriting experience at Liberty Specialty Markets, where he was most recently head of surety for Asia-Pacific. Prior to that, he held a range of senior roles underwriting surety for Liberty in Australia, as well as North America, the UK, and Europe.
“With his extensive experience, Jonathan is exceptionally qualified to bring to market surety solutions with BHSI’s agility, underwriting expertise, and financial strength,” said Mark Lingafelter, president for Australasia at BHSI.
The global player, which currently provides surety solutions in the US, Canada, UK, and Europe, will be offering contract-surety solutions for large and mid-sized contractors throughout Australia.
