The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has revealed the regional winners of two acclaimed industry awards today, both of which recognise excellence in the profession.
Steven Hill, director of Capital Innovation Australia, claimed the Broker of the Year Award for the Queensland region following more than 30 years’ in the industry.
Sponsored by QBE, the award is given to a broker who is deemed an “inspirational role model” for the broking community and has demonstrated excellence in broking practice and client advocacy.
"Congratulations to Steven, QBE is thrilled to continue supporting the development of our broker partners as we work together to deliver exceptional customer outcomes,” said Craig Mauger, QBE regional manager for Queensland.
The second accolade – the Young Professional Broker of the Year Award – went to Steven Purser, an account manager with PSC Insurance.
Sponsored by Vero, the Young Professional Broker of the Year Award recognises the broking industry’s rising stars under the age of 35.
“Congratulations Steven, Vero is delighted to provide ongoing support to the next generation of broking leaders across the country,” said Peter Roberts, Vero’s state manager for Queensland.
NIBA CEO Dallas Booth also congratulated both winners and all finalists had been impressive.
“We wish both Stevens the best of luck in the national awards, and we congratulate all the finalists who exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and competence in the broking industry.”
The two Queensland winners will now go on to compete nationally for the Stephen Ball Memorial Award for Broker of the Year and the Warren Tickle Memorial Award for Young Professional Broker of the Year. The national winners will be chosen from five regional winners and announced at NIBA’s national Convention in Hobart on Tuesday 4 September.
