The brokerage Ausure has announced a merger with Strategic Insurance Services (SIS), one of its Tasmania based authorised representatives (ARs). According to a media release, SIS managing director Chris O’Neill will lead the merged businesses.
“After 23 successful years operating Strategic the time is right to combine our strengths for not only business growth but also to bring on board additional experienced Ausure staff,” said O’Neill.
Ausure’s local staff are relocating to the SIS Hobart office. O’Neill’s business partner, David Reid, the firm’s insurance broking manager and Ausure’s Hobart based business operations manager, Joanna King, will continue in their leadership roles.
“I am really pleased we are able to bring our Tasmanian businesses together,” said Scott McCarthy, Ausure’s CEO. “In addition to the usual benefits of a larger business, the merged business brings together some really complementary strengths that will place it in a great position to provide market leading service and advice to its clients.”
SIS has offices in Hobart, Ulverstone and Smithton, said the release. According to its website, the firm offers a range of general insurance and specialist coverages including construction and farm insurance.
Brisbane headquartered Ausure describes itself as one of Australia’s largest insurance broking and advice companies with more than 300 ARs across the country.
