Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC) chair Ian Carson AM has been reappointed for a further three years starting July.
“It is fantastic for ARPC and our stakeholders to have the benefit of Ian’s leadership for a second term for the stability this brings, together with Ian’s strong relationship with the government, particularly at this difficult time for our stakeholders,” commented ARPC chief executive Dr Christopher Wallace.
Meanwhile the Morrison Government has reappointed Robin Low and appointed Maria Fernandez PSM as part-time members for a three-year period from April 23. Michael Callaghan AM PSM, on the other hand, has completed his term as an ARPC member.
“I thank our Minister, the Hon Michael Sukkar MP, and am very excited to continue my role with ARPC,” stated Carson. “I warmly welcome the reappointment of Robin Low and the new appointment of Maria Fernandez PSM to the ARPC board, and I look forward to working with them to advance ARPC’s corporate plan with our stakeholders in these challenging times.”
Carson, who has served as ARPC chair since July 2017, also serves as markets chair at PwC. As for Low, she is on the board of four listed companies including AUB Group Limited. Fernandez, who has a distinguished career in the public sector, was the first female head of an Australian intelligence agency.
The chair also expressed his gratitude for Callaghan’s time at ARPC. The latter, who is chair of the Aged Care Financing Authority, is chairing the government’s Retirement Income Review.
“Mike Callaghan made a significant contribution to ARPC during his term, particularly in guiding the development of ARPC strategy and strategic projects, and his contributions will be missed,” said Carson.
