AustCyber has recruited Tony Stubbs, a seasoned leader with 15 years of experience in delivering strategic business objectives, as its new chief operating officer.

The new AustCyber COO specialises in tactical planning and implementation, stakeholder and relationship management, change management and organisation restructure.

Prior to the appointment, Stubbs served 12 years as CEO at Heart Foundation ACT, a heart health charity fighting Australia’s biggest killer, heart disease. Under Stubbs’ leadership, Heart Foundation transitioned into a unified national organisation from nine separate entities. He has also worked for other health charities, including the Cancer Council and Asthma NSW, as well as in the ACT government as campaign manager with Healthpact.

“Our chairs and I are very excited to have his extensive experience in Australian non-profits a part of AustCyber's next phase of growth and know many of our ecosystem’s companies will also benefit from his business perspectives,” said Michelle Price, AustCyber’s CEO.

“I’m excited to take on the challenge of ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day administrative and operational functions of AustCyber are achieved, so the organisation can realise its ambition of developing a vibrant and globally competitive cyber security sector,” Stubbs said. “AustCyber’s first two and a half years have been focused on foundation building – creating a stable footing for sector growth. Over the next few years, we hope to ‘raise the stakes’ through strategic planning and execution.”
