QBE has announced a pair of appointments for its Australian business.
The insurer has announced a new executive general manager of marketing, Bettina Pidcock, and a new general counsel and company secretary, Carolyn Scobie.
Pidcock joins the insurer in a newly created role from ANZ Wealth where she was head of marketing and in the new role, will be “instrumental” in enhancing the QBE brand.
Scobie will join the company on 18 January 2016 following the resignation of Peter Horton and will work across the entire QBE Group.
John Neal, CEO of QBE, said that Scobie’s appointment and her experience with ASX-listed Goodman Group, will see the company well represented.
“We are delighted to have someone with Carolyn’s international experience and expertise join the organisation,” Neal said.
“Carolyn’s proven track record in leading a legal team across many different countries will be a great asset for QBE and we look forward to her insight and contribution as we continue to transform and grow our business.”
Tim Plant, CEO of QBE’s Australian and New Zealand operations, said that the addition of Pidcock, who will also join the business on January 18, and the creation of the new role highlights the importance QBE places on its customers.
“The creation of this role comes at a time when we are strengthening our efforts to understand our customers’ preferences to ensure we can provide them with the most relevant options to meet their needs,” Plant said.
“Bettina’s experience will play a vital role in helping us increase our capability to deliver great experiences for our people, customers and the community.”
