AUB Group has set its sights on boosting its end-to-end partner value proposition by today revealing a restructure of AIMS.

The largest equity-based insurance broker network in Australasia is expanding the scope of AIMS so that it delivers all services to the group’s broking and underwriting agency partners – including claims servicing, capacity placement, partner support services and product sourcing. The move is part of AUB’s efforts to boost growth through the consolidation and expansion of key services across its network.

“Delivering market-leading broker services to our partners is a key component of AUB Group’s value proposition,” explained Mike Emmett, AUB Group’s CEO and managing director. “These changes will allow our partners to better leverage our scale, footprint, expertise and specialty areas.”

As part of the move, a new CEO has been appointed – Angie Zissis takes the role of CEO of AIMS and group head of underwriting and placement with continued responsibility for SURA. The move will become effective following the exit of IBNA from AIMS and also sees Glenn Schultz step down from his role – he will leave AIMS in September.

“I’m pleased by Angie’s appointment, which is a validation of his extensive underwriting experience and market relationships, and excited about the upside this will create for our partners in future,” added Emmett. “I’d like to acknowledge and thank Glenn for his tireless efforts and leadership over the past four years as GM of AIMS.”

The move comes on the back of the June decision to mutually end the joint venture agreement between AUB Group and IBNA. When IBNA exits AIMS in September, AUB Group will hold a 100% stake in AIMS – and will subsequently rename it as Austbrokers Insurance Member Services.
