The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (
ASIC) has reappointed Cathie Armour as a full-time member and as commissioner until June 2, 2022.
“I would like to express my appreciation to Ms Armour for her ongoing commitment to ASIC and her ongoing public service,” said Mathias Cormann, minister for finance and acting minister for revenue and financial services.
Armour has 18 years of legal counsel leadership experience in international financial institutions. She was general counsel and executive director of
Macquarie Capital.
She also occupied senior compliance and operational risk positions at Macquarie Capital and JP Morgan in Australia, and was a member of the ASX Tribunal.
Armour also engaged in private legal practice for the forerunners of the firms King & Wood Mallesons and Allens in Sydney and for Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York.
