Corporate regulator ASIC is attending the Elmore Field Days in Bendigo this week, to promote its consumer website MoneySmart, which offers free, independent guidance to help Australians manage their finances better.
Manning ASIC’s MoneySmart stand is Warren Day, ASIC’s Victorian regional commissioner, to promote the interactive tools and information Victorians can access to improve their financial literacy.
“ASIC wants to make itself more accessible to everyday consumers and investors and make money matters more front of mind,” Day said. “We also want to hear from people about what issues are important to them and what tools or resources will help them better manage their money.”
Day and his team will also dish out advice on how consumers can protect themselves from investment scams and other frauds.
“In listening to the views, concerns, and experiences of regional Victorians, we hope to build new relationships, strengthen existing ones, and ultimately increase confidence in managing their own finances,” Day said.
