The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has been lauded for its workplace-giving program at a ceremony held in Melbourne.
ASIC scooped the Best Public Sector Program silver medal at the inaugural Workplace Giving Excellence Awards, part of the Australian Charities’ Fund One Million Donors campaign.
The silver award was presented by Hon. Kelly O’Dwyer MP, Minister for Revenue and Financial Services, and received by Justine Butler, ASIC in the community manager.
John Price, ASIC commissioner, was thrilled with the recognition.
“ASIC is justifiably proud of our community giving program which we believe shows leadership in the public sector,” he said. “While our program starts with payroll giving donations that provide the regular funding so important to charities, we also encourage volunteering and host events featuring charity leaders to engage and inspire.”
In a statement, ASIC said the combined value of its participation in the workplace-giving program was just over $167,000.
