The insurance industry’s key regulators has appointed a new leader.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has announced today that Scott Gregson (main picture, above) will take up the CEO role from March 17.
He replaces ASIC’s retiring interim CEO, Greg Yanco and was CEO of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) where he enjoyed a three-decade career.
“Scott is an impressive leader and will bring extensive experience to this important role at ASIC,” said ASIC Chair Joe Longo in a media release.
Longo said Gregson’s appointment was the next step in ASIC’s transformation following the organisation’s most significant redesign in 15 years.
“His commitment to achieving regulatory outcomes that benefit all Australians makes him a strong addition to support ASIC’s commission and head the agency’s executive leadership team,” said Longo in the release.
The chair also thanked Yanco for his contribution.
‘Greg has been an integral part of Australia’s financial services landscape not just in his various senior executive roles at ASIC, but previously at the ASX,’ Mr Longo said.
