Celebrating its 20th year, the event will focus on the theme “Clarity and Confidence to Act Now,” offering a platform for business leaders and experts to discuss major risks and challenges facing organisations in Australia and the Pacific region.
The event will feature several key Aon executives, including:
In addition to Aon’s leaders, speakers from companies like Veolia, Toyota Finance, and Mirvac will address topics such as economic pressures, human capital risk, climate change, cyber security, and supply chain disruptions. Emeritus professor Ian Harper, AO, will deliver an economic outlook on both the global and local levels.
Jennifer Richards, Aon’s Australia CEO, will officially open the event alongside host Jason Disborough, Aon’s enterprise client growth leader for the Asia-Pacific region.
In a statement, Richards pointed to the growing pressures on businesses in Australia and New Zealand, including inflation, supply chain disruptions, and a tight labour market.
“Businesses in Australia and New Zealand are facing new forms of volatility while simultaneously facing constant pressure to make complex business decisions at speed,” she said.
She said the Insights Series offers strategies and case studies to help leaders better navigate these challenges.
Following the Melbourne event, Aon will hold additional satellite events in Seoul, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Mumbai throughout the remainder of 2024. Earlier this month, a related event was held in Singapore.
The two-day conference will cover a wide range of topics through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and breakout sessions.
One panel, moderated by Aon’s Lori Goltermann, will feature senior executives discussing how their organisations are managing global risks.
Other breakout sessions will explore industry-specific issues, including data risk management, equitable outcomes for employee pay and wellbeing, and whether it is time to reconsider a national workers’ compensation scheme.
A highlight of the agenda will be a keynote by Maj. Gen. Paul Symon AO (Ret.), former director-general of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service, who will examine geopolitical risks and their impact on the Asia-Pacific region.
Another session will feature Oliver Wild, chief risk and insurance officer at Veolia, discussing how businesses can build resilience through proactive risk management.
The Aon Insights Series Pacific aims to provide decision-makers with the insights needed to better manage emerging risks and create resilient strategies for the future.
Attendees will have access to masterclasses covering key topics such as parametric insurance, artificial intelligence, and supply chain risks, as well as innovative approaches to human capital and risk management.
Event information and the full agenda are available on Aon’s website.
