Indiana, the home of American motorsports, recently declared May 10th as K&K Insurance Day to recognize the
Aon subsidiary’s sustained efforts in supporting the growth of the sport by providing protection to participants, as well as those involved in ancillary activities.
The K&K Insurance Day was made official through the proclamations of the Indiana General Assembly and Mayor Tom Henry.
The declaration was in conjunction with a dedication ceremony by the Indiana Racing Memorial Association (IRMA) recognizing K&K’s role as “a vital component of Indiana’s motorsports industry history,” according to a statement from the company.
As part of the dedication, a permanent marker was placed in front of the company’s home office at 1712 Magnavox Way.
IRMA dignitaries, including Indianapolis Motor Speedway announcer Howdy Bell, Senator David Long, and K&K president and chief executive Todd Bixler were present at the dedication ceremony.
K&K offers over 70 specialty sports and recreation programs for professional and amateur sports teams and events, sports and entertainment facilities, camps, campgrounds, resorts, fairs, and motorsports facilities and participants, among others.
The specialty firm’s team won a Grand National Championship in 1970 led by driver Bobby Isaac and crew chief Harry Hyde.
