Aon has teamed up with APRA AMCOS, Alberts, and BMG to sponsor an Australia-based songwriting competition which aims to support new talents and raise funds for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia (NRMTA), which uses music to deliver positive outcomes to young people with physical and intellectual disabilities.
Now on its 10th year, the annual Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition will see young songwriters around the world compete for a share in $70,000 and the unique chance to grow their career as a songwriter. The first prize winner will bring home $50,000.
“We are proud to have worked with APRA AMCOS for close to 20 years in supporting talented young people create careers from passions,” said Deb Gibson, Aon’s client director. “We are delighted to support a competition that provides opportunities for songwriters and raises money for a great cause. Our active involvement in the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition is part of our ongoing commitment to having the support structures in place for progressing the professional development of Australian musicians.”
