Aon appoints life reinsurance broking head

Global insurance brokerage Aon has reinforced its reinsurance offering across Australia and New Zealand with a new addition to its growing life practice group.

Danny Alexander was appointed head of life reinsurance broking, and will focus on enhancing and delivering Aon’s life insurance business and reinsurance solutions across Australia and New Zealand markets.

Alexander, a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, brings more than two decades of finance and insurance experience to his new role, having worked at Swiss Re Group, Scor, and Munich Re.

“We recognised the need to continue to invest in our life practice group to scale our capabilities, and we are delighted to welcome Danny to the team as he leads our life initiative into the next phase of growth for the business,” said John Carroll, head of broking for reinsurance solutions at Aon. “Danny’s appointment will build upon our existing leading expertise in the business and position our offering to help clients achieve the most effective balance sheet management through a bespoke blend of reinsurance solutions, risk mitigation and capital optimisation.”
