Aon has announced that James Baum has been named managing director of commercial and chairman of
Aon broking, effective immediately.
Baum steps into the dual role and will have strategic oversight of Aon’s broking including its go to market strategy and key relationships with insurers. As head of commercial, Baum will also look to grow the international firm’s branch network.
Lambros Lambrou, chief executive officer, Aon Risk Solutions Australia, said that Baum’s increasing responsibilities throughout his time with the firm have highlighted the need for greater alignment between the commercial and broking businesses.
“James’ experience means he is ideally positioned to build on the great work and assets we have established across both commercial and broking,” Lambrou said.
Baum previously held the role of managing director and chef broking officer, Pacific, at Aon Risk Solutions and replaced Ian McLellan in the commercial role.
