The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has announced a new president and deputy president as part of its AGM.
AMP Life CEO and Resolution Life Australasia head Megan Beer has been named ANZIIF president. She has been deputy president since 2017, and accepted the presidency when Allan Reynolds stepped down at the end of his two-year term.
“I am honoured to lead ANZIIF and serve as president,” Beer said. “I am excited for the year ahead, and to continue the great momentum made by Allan, Prue and her team in 2018.”
Meanwhile, General Insurance Australia and New Zealand Zurich Financial Services Australasia chief executive officer Tim Plant will take the role of deputy president.
ANZIIF also welcomed new board members including Munich Re in Australasia chief operating officer Simone Dossetor, IAG EGM business distribution Ben Bessell and QBE Insurance Australia/New Zealand chief strategy officer Fiona Hayes-St Clair.
“We are pleased to welcome Simone, Ben and Fiona, all of whom have distinguished careers, to the ANZIIF board,” ANZIIF CEO Prue Willsford said. “They all bring a wealth of experience and will be a great benefit for ANZIIF and the insurance industry.”
Willsford also thanked outgoing president Reynolds and former president Karl Armstrong for their commitment and contribution to the association. Armstrong retired from the ANZIIF board at the 2019 AGM.
