As part of its 2017/2018 Community Education Program, specialist insurer Ansvar will cover the full costs of providing the first accommodation unit of One Voice for Aussie Youth, a team of volunteers who dedicate their time and skills to help restore dignity and hope for the homeless.
The housing community, based within the Life Restoration Community, is open to young people aged 18-25 years, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The first accommodation unit will provide a safe and nurturing environment to four to eight people per year, and provide them access to a program that will equip them with the necessary skills to find meaningful employment and become contributing members of society.
The young people who will be part of the housing community are expected to be actively engaged in one of the organisation’s social enterprise businesses or be employed through one of its partners. This will allow the participants to turn their life around and confidently move to the next chapter in their life.
