Ansvar, a part of Benefact Group and a specialist provider of insurance and risk management solutions, has welcomed Paul Cowley and Michelle Hay to the team.
Before joining Ansvar, Hay was the head of growth and customer experience (insurance) at Latitude, leading the development of the business strategy and customer-led propositions to achieve the insurance business's objectives.
As the new national manager (SME and business packages) at Ansvar, Hay will lead the distribution of SME portfolios and the performance and service standards of Ansvar's business package underwriting team.
“Ansvar has a clear target customer group, supports brokers through their distribution mode, and [has] a noble purpose to give back to the communities it supports through its owner, The Benefact Group. It excites me to be joining a dedicated organisation that knows what it wants to do and who it wants to be,” Hay said.
Cowley, the new business development underwriting manager, has over 20 years of experience in underwriting, business development, and claims consulting. He also founded a brokerage/underwriting agency and worked with the Guild Group, MDA National, and Avant Mutual Group.
Cowley has a thorough knowledge of insurance legislation and industry practices, as well as medical indemnity and related government schemes. He also has highly developed communication and customer service skills, thanks to his experience in various customer-focused roles, formal NIDA training, and tertiary qualification.
“Paul is a great complement to our growing Vic/Tas team,” said Rob Funnell, Vic/Tas state manager at Ansvar. “We are delighted to have him on board with Ansvar and playing an integral role in our journey to grow to give back.”
