The Gallagher-sponsored 2018 Golden Crow Award for excellence in business ethics has been awarded to disability employment agency Job Centre Australia, presented by the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber.
The award recognises a business for its ethical excellence within the Wagga Wagga community, with Job Centre Australia rewarded by an independent panel of judges.
“It is such a great service that Job Centre Australia offers,” said Caleb Richards, branch manager of Gallagher in Wagga Wagga. “Their combination of work between an employer and employee is paramount to the success of any employment placement, and the ethical and transparent way in which Job Centre Australia works demonstrates their dedication to the community.”
Job Centre Australia also scooped the outstanding employer of choice award, but CEO Brian Yates said that ethical excellence is close to the non-for-profit's heart.
“It is something we have always been focused on as a business and leadership team,” Yates said. “We are very proud and happy with the result. It is an important award to us, and one we have won from other business chambers as well and I think that it is very reflective of the whole organisation’s values.”
Gallagher itself has been recognised as one of the world’s most ethical businesses by the Ethisphere Institute, a global arbiter of ethical business practice, for seven consecutive years.
