On May 14, in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, at the historic Fullerton Hotel, Insurance Business will bring together minds from across the industry for Australia’s largest one-day event covering the insurtech and claimstech sphere – TechFest 2020. And here at Insurance Business, all-systems-are-go to make this year’s event the best, boldest and most extensive ever.
The third iteration of our TechFest event, 2020 marks the first time the insurtech and claimstech strands have come under one roof – meaning this year’s TechFest is gearing up to be the biggest yet.
Loan Kiss, APAC team leader of conference production here at Insurance Business, is one of the driving forces behind the content management-side of TechFest – her third time at the reins.
“For the first time, we’ve combined both our Claimstech and Insurtech Summits - both of which have sold out in previous years - into a tech fest bonanza!”
Kiss explained that the idea came about from a desire to make TechFest the most in-depth event for the industry.
“The objective was to create a leading national industry summit covering all key topics relating to technology in the insurance sector – and we think we’ve achieved that with this year’s TechFest,” Kiss said.
The streams will run concurrently, allowing ticketholders to ‘pick-n-mix’ their day to their liking and leave the event having gained vital new knowledge.
“Claimstech will focus on innovations, proven strategies, and the challenges and opportunities relating specifically to customer-driven digital transformation in claims,” Kiss said. “Meanwhile the insurtech stream will focus on the wider technological innovations, collaboration efforts and the opportunities and challenges currently facing the insurance industry.”
The range of industry speakers is the most varied and interesting yet, with deep thought put into ensuring that everyone’s interests are catered for. Kiss explained that this was collaborative with our readership base, as she and the team put together the event with open eyes and ears.
“From extensive phone research and survey results drawn from our Insurance Business readership, we tried to develop an agenda tailored specifically to industry challenges and the emerging technologies that are foreseen to become the face of insurance in the coming few years,” she said.
Insurance Business has partnered with both Kennedys and EY for the event, and the day will not only provide enlightening listening at the panels and talks, but also allow for engagement and learning. It will give industry figures the tools, information and debate required to grasp the opportunities of the coming years.
With near-30 leading industry figures confirmed to be panelists and speakers – with experts from IAG, EY, Suncorp, ANZ, Kennedys and Hollard to name only a few – it is gearing up to be a unique event. With registration still open, Insurance Business’s TechFest will be the place to be on May 14 for anyone and everyone in the industry keen to learn, network and enjoy.
