An Allstate leader was recently elected as chairman of the business advocacy group, US Chamber of Commerce.
Tom Wilson, chief executive and chairman of property and casualty carrier Allstate, will soon assume the leadership position at the organization, which represents the interests of more than three million businesses across the country, ranging from mom-and-pop shops to global corporations.

Wilson will take over from John Hopkins, who is currently the chairman and chief executive of NuScale Power, a nuclear engineering firm.
The new chairman, who is one year shy of sixty, became Allstate chief in 2007 after several senior executive postings in the company. He came onboard the insurance firm in 1995 after a stint with Sears, Roebuck and Co.
